In fact, on the night of 21st, a couple was brutally attacked in which the husband died on the spot, while his wife is admitted in the hospital in critical condition. Delhi Police solved the mystery of this entire murder in just 48 hours and arrested the accused from Rae Bareli in UP.
According to Delhi Police, on the night of 21st May, Delhi Police received information through PCR call that a person's body was lying in Katwaria Sarai area and a woman was injured. When the police reached the spot, they saw that 45-year-old Ashok Kumar had several wounds on his head and he had died, while his wife Maya Devi was found unconscious, who was immediately taken to AIIMS Trauma Center by the police team.
The couple was identified by their daughter Kajal who was living with them. Both were originally from Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh and worked as daily wage labourers in IIT Delhi.
Delhi Police started operation in search of the accused.
Delhi Police formed a special team in view of the seriousness of the case. In which about 15 officers were working. However, the special team formed by Delhi Police was engaged in solving this murder case for 72 hours continuously. Delhi Police investigated most of the CCTV footage, mobile records and also helped with electronic surveillance. Finally, with the help of electronic surveillance, it was found that the accused fled towards Rae Bareli via Maharajganj in Uttar Pradesh. Delhi Police chased him for 700 kilometers and finally arrested the accused from Rae Bareli.
The rift in the relationship became the reason for the murder.
After the arrest by Delhi Police, the accused Akhilesh made a shocking revelation during police interrogation. During interrogation by Delhi Police, the accused told that he had an emotional relationship with the deceased's wife. And he often came to meet her. But recently Ashok Kumar opposed this and also threatened him. Maya Devi also distanced herself from him. Hurt by the insult and this treatment meted out to him, the accused got angry and attacked both of them with a hammer on the night of 21 May and fled from the spot.
Delhi Police registered a case and investigation is on.
Delhi Police registered an FIR in this case at Kishangarh police station. Police have also recovered the weapon used in the murder and the clothes worn by the accused at the time of the incident. However, the condition of Maya Devi, who was seriously injured in the entire murder, is not good yet and Delhi Police is investigating the case further.
