Not only this, his wife's phone also became a victim of hacking. He requested his fans not to reply to any kind of messages.
The hacker made this demand
The 'UI' director told people that his and his wife Priyanka's phones were hacked under the guise of an item delivery call. Both Priyanka and Upendra attempted to make calls from their phones, following which their devices were tampered with. The hackers reportedly sent messages to the couple's followers demanding Rs 22,000 via UPI transfer and promised to return the money within a few hours.
How did the phones get hacked?
The incident happened when Priyanka received a message claiming that her order was not being delivered due to some problem and she was being asked to call on another number. Both Priyanka and Upendra tried to make the call from their phones, after which their devices got hacked. After this hacking, Upendra went live on social media and asked people not to respond to such fraudulent calls or messages. A message came on my wife Priyanka's phone, we dialed from Priyanka's phone and then from my phone too, both our phones got hacked.
Priyanka made this appeal to the people
Upendra's wife Priyanka appealed to the fans and said, 'My and Uppi's phone has been hacked. Some people are asking for money through UPI. We appeal to everyone not to send any money. We are not doing this'. The couple has lodged a complaint with the police.
Upendra is known for films like Mukunda Murari, Upendra Matte Baa, I Love You, Home Minister. Priyanka has appeared in Tamil and Bengali films as well as Kannada films. She played the lead role in the Kannada film Gauri (2024).
