News Topical, Digital Desk : A large number of business leaders, led by Mahesh Soni, district president of the Industry Trade Representative Board, arrived at the Collectorate on Friday. Submitting a memorandum to ADM Arpit Gupta, the businessmen demanded the reopening of the closed gas agency or ensuring gas distribution in the city. The ADM assured them of resolving the issue within a week.
Nearly a month has passed since Prakash Gas Agency was shut down due to allegations of irregularities and black marketing, but the administration has yet to make any concrete alternative arrangements. As a result, the city's domestic gas consumers are forced to wander around to meet their daily needs.
To get gas cylinder refills, consumers have to travel to Ramganj Bazaar and Sangrampur, located approximately 26 kilometers from the city. The long distances add to the burden of time, labor, and additional expenses, leading to growing resentment among both the public and business community. Despite more than a month having passed, the administration's indifference is beyond comprehension.
The question was raised as to how long the city residents would continue to grapple with this problem. Traders have demanded that the district administration intervene in the matter and ensure proper gas distribution within the city so that people can get relief. A large number of traders, including Ramji Agrahari, Amar Chaurasia, Sushil Jaiswal, Durgesh Soni, and Kamal Baba, were present to submit the memorandum.
