News Topical, Digital Desk : CM Yogi on Labor Department: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a high-level review meeting of the Labor and Employment Department on Friday. During this, he said that workers and industrialists complement each other, not oppose each other. He told the officials that the labor laws of the state should be made in such a way that they are favorable to the industries and also fully protect the rights of the workers.

The Chief Minister clearly said that "the way to provide work to every hand is through the expansion of industries. Employment will not be created by closing industries, rather more and more employment will be generated only by the development of industries." He instructed the officials to develop Shramik Addas as models, where there are facilities of dormitory, drinking water, toilet, canteen and training. The Chief Minister said that tea, breakfast and food should be made available to the workers in the canteens for Rs 5 to 10. Apart from this, minimum honorarium should be guaranteed to them by doing skill mapping of workers of the unorganized sector.

What does CM Yogi say on the rehabilitation of child labourers?
Speaking on the rehabilitation of child labourers, the Chief Minister said that their future will have to be improved by linking them with the Chief Minister's Bal Seva Yojana and other schemes. He also stressed on providing language training along with technical training to workers working abroad. CM Yogi also said that private hospitals should be linked to CSIC and ESIS, so that workers from both organized and unorganized sectors can get better health services.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister was informed that out of more than 5.97 lakh applications received on the Nivesh Mitra portal so far, NOC has been issued to 5.90 lakh. The Chief Minister directed to dispose of the remaining applications also on time and with transparency.

“Ease of Doing Business” will provide employment to youth.
Officials also informed that from independence till 2016, 13,809 factories were registered in Uttar Pradesh, whereas in the last 9 years, 13,644 new factories were registered, which is an increase of 99%. The Chief Minister praised the Labor Department, calling this achievement unprecedented.

The Uttar Pradesh government has taken several important steps towards labor reforms in the last few years. To improve the "Ease of Doing Business" and attract investment, the Yogi government has promoted simplification of labor laws, digital portal, and time-bound NOC system. This has accelerated the establishment of new industries in the state and has provided new employment opportunities to lakhs of youth. Along with this, initiatives are also being taken to provide social security to workers in the unorganized sector by linking them with schemes.
