
News Topical, Digital Desk : Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday (October 11) expressed grief over the alleged suicide of senior IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar, calling it a very unfortunate incident. He assured the deceased IPS officer's family of strict action and justice.
CM Nayab Singh Saini said, "No matter how influential the criminal is, he will not be spared. If injustice has been done to the family, our government will work to ensure justice."

Speaking at the BJP's state executive meeting in Panchkula, HT reported, CM Saini observed a two-minute silence to pay tribute to the deceased IPS officer. He also said, "This matter will be thoroughly investigated and if anyone is found guilty, strict action will be taken."
IPS Puran Kumar committed suicide on October 7.
Y. Puran Kumar was a 2001-batch IPS officer. He was found dead at his residence in Sector 11, Chandigarh, on October 7th with gunshot wounds. He had reportedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service revolver.
A case has been registered against several officials, including the DGP.
Chandigarh Police on Thursday (October 9) registered an FIR against Haryana DGP Shatrughan Singh Kapoor and 10 others for allegedly abetting the suicide of IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar. This came after Kumar's wife, IAS Amneet P. Kumar, and his family demanded the registration of an FIR in the IPS officer's death.
Police also found an eight-page suicide note in this case. In his final note, he named several senior officials and accused them of caste-based discrimination and harassment.
