News Topical, Digital Desk : Yesterday (February 23), in Patna, the capital of Bihar, Chowkidars and Dafadars took to the streets demanding jobs in place of their ancestors. They argued that a Dafadar is a part of the Chowkidar hierarchy. The protest, which began at Kargil Chowk in Patna, was demanding the reinstatement of dependents of retired Dafadars and Chowkidars. The protesters reached Dak Bungalow Square and attempted to break through barricades and proceed further. Police then resorted to lathi-charge to stop them, and also lathi-charged those protesting on the street.
