News Topical, Digital Desk : UP News: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday reviewed the updated status of Covid-19 in the state in view of the global and national situation related to the latest subvariant of Covid-19 JN.1. During this, he said that at present there is no need to worry about Covid infection in Uttar Pradesh, but in view of the global situation, caution and vigilance are extremely necessary.

The Chief Minister clarified that no new advisory has been issued by the Government of India regarding Covid-19. However, keeping in view the increase in the number of infected people due to the JN.1 subvariant in countries like Thailand, Singapore and Hong Kong, continuous monitoring is necessary in the state as well. He directed that all the medical colleges, district hospitals and health units of the state should remain in alert mode and be fully prepared to deal with any emergency.

The Chief Minister said that the infrastructure like 10-bed ICUs, ventilators and oxygen plants built in district hospitals during the previous waves of Covid-19 should be kept functional permanently. Regular testing of these facilities and maintenance as required should be ensured. He also directed that health workers should be trained in other tasks related to the healthcare system and used effectively, as their role during Covid-19 has been extremely commendable.

The Chief Minister also alerted the concerned departments regarding the prevention of communicable diseases and said that preparations should be started now to deal with seasonal diseases like dengue, malaria and kala-azar. He directed the Health Department, Medical Education Department and the local administration to work in a coordinated manner. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath finally clarified that the state government is fully prepared and committed to deal with all possible health challenges including Covid. He said the health system of the state is fully alert and capable.
