After menopause, as estrogen levels drop, blood pressure rises , cholesterol levels worsen, and arteries become stiffer. The risk increases even more if you've had a poor lifestyle in the past.

Delay in treatment

The statistics are shocking: women are more likely to die within a year of a heart attack than men. The main reasons for this are:

  • Vague symptoms – Women often experience jaw pain, back pain, nausea, or shortness of breath instead of chest pain. This can lead to delays in going to the hospital.
  • Mistake in treatment – ​​Many times even experts do not take women's symptoms seriously, thinking them to be panic attacks or acidity.
  • Recovery challenges – Women often cannot focus as much on their recovery as men due to household responsibilities.

What to do for protection?

  • Regular checkups: After the age of 35, get your lipid profile, blood pressure and sugar checked regularly.
  • Stress Management- Do yoga and meditation regularly.
  • Recognize the symptoms – If you experience unusual shortness of breath or unexplained fatigue, do not ignore it.
