New Delhi. Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has decided to run a special campaign to crack down on adulterated sweets and milk products during the festive season. In a letter sent to the Food Safety Commissioners of all states and union territories, all regional directors and all central licensing authorities, FSSAI has asked them to deploy mobile testing vans in the markets in their respective areas and regularly test the food products sold in shops.

According to the instructions issued by FSSAI, during the festive season, the consumption of milk products like khoya, paneer, ghee along with sweets increases a lot. Seeing this, adulterators become active and sell adulterated goods to the public, which is very harmful for health. The best way to deal with this is monitoring. For this, it is necessary to run a special campaign of quality check at the production and sales centers of these goods.

Along with this, FSSAI has asked to use intelligence machinery to gather information about adulterators and to ensure prompt action on the information received from them. FSSAI has called this instruction extremely important and has asked to ensure action on it.
