Sanjay Leela Bhansali's much awaited film Love and War has been in the news ever since it was announced. The film will feature the trio of Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal and it will be a love triangle.
Now when will the film be released?
Earlier it was scheduled to release on March 20, 2026, but now this love story is set for an even bigger launch. According to the latest update, Love and War is being planned to release on Independence Day next year.
The film was earlier scheduled to release on the occasion of Eid
According to Bollywood Hungama, the film's production was delayed by almost three months, which has naturally pushed the release date deadline. The film was earlier scheduled to release on Eid in 2026 but now Independence Day week has emerged as an option. A source close to the project said, "The next best option for Sanjay Leela Bhansali is Independence Day week, which fits perfectly with the theme of love and war."
Which films will it clash with?
While an official announcement from Bhansali's camp is still awaited, all indications suggest that Love and War will hit the theatres around August 14 to 15, 2026. If that happens, Love and War will see a th-way clash at the box office. Kartik Aaryan recently released the first look of his supernatural thriller Naagjila, produced by Karan Johar, in which he plays an 'Ichchhadhari Naag'. The film is set to release on August 14, 2026. Earlier, Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films had earlier revealed that Bhediya 2 starring Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon and Abhishek Banerjee will also release in the same weekend.
Directed by Amar Kaushik, Bhediya 2 will take forward the thrilling universe established in the 2022 hit film Bhediya. Accordingly, on the occasion of Independence Day in the year 2026, three big films Love and War, Bhediya and Naagjila will clash.
