BJP leader Jairam Thakur claims, 'CM Sukhwinder Sukhu gave advertisements worth 2 crores to National Herald':

National Herald Case: Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister and BJP leader Jairam Thakur said that Congress and corruption are synonymous with each other. Whenever the national investigation agencies start uncovering the layers of scams committed by them, the Congress tries to scare and threaten these agencies by doing politics of pressure.

Jairam Thakur said, "The Chief Minister of Himachal is not trying to understand the matter nor does he try to understand any matter. The Chief Minister said that National Herald is our newspaper, we can give as many advertisements as we want."

Jairam said that the poor people of the state are getting their treatment done by selling their jewellery, the poor are not getting treatment through Himcare scheme while the government is giving advertisements worth crores of rupees to newspapers like National Herald which are owned by the Congress and Nehru family.

He said that this money of the people of the state is not for donation. He said that in the last two years, more than two crore rupees have been given to National Herald and Navjeevan newspapers by flouting the rules. Not only this, payments have been made twice in a day.

In Mandi, Jairam Thakur said that the Congress had laid the foundation of the National Herald newspaper in 1938 before independence. Its first editor was Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. After this, apart from National Herald, newspapers named Navjivan in Hindi and Qaumi Awaz in Urdu were published by the publishing group of Associate General Limited.

He said that this newspaper, which was considered to be the pioneer of India, became the pioneer of corruption under the leadership of Nehru family and Congress. After Nehru, Indira and Feroze Gandhi took over the reins of National Herald newspaper. Thereafter, Rajiv Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi acquired this property worth about two thousand crores. Regarding which a case was filed in Patiala House Court in 2012 by Subramanyam Swamy during the UPA government. In which Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were made accused.

He said that on 15 April 2021, ED registered a case in this regard and started investigation. During that time also, a protest was held outside the ED office by the Congress. He said that many freedom fighters including Sardar Patel have raised questions about how serious this matter is. At the same time, Congress is talking about misuse of ED against the Prime Minister and Home Minister of the country, which is not right.

Jairam Thakur said that today the country wants to know what the matter is. Why are Congress staging protests against ED across the country? He said that people holding constitutional posts, including ministers and chief ministers, are also participating in protests against ED.
