
Akhilesh Yadav on ED: Samajwadi Party national president and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav has said that inequality and injustice are constantly increasing in the country under the BJP government. The BJP is taking new decisions to divert the attention of the common people from basic problems like inflation, unemployment and corruption. He alleged that the BJP is weakening democratic institutions and not allowing them to work freely.
Akhilesh Yadav reached Bhubaneswar on Wednesday on a two-day visit to Odisha. While talking to the media there, he discussed the thoughts of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar and said that his dream was a system based on social justice, everyone should have the right to equality and respect. Akhilesh said that the Samajwadi Party is continuously working to fulfill this dream.
He said that recently he met former Union Minister and socialist leader Srikant Jena, in which serious discussions were held on issues like social justice, secularism and democracy. Akhilesh said that socialist ideology will be strengthened in Odisha too and the fight for social justice will be taken forward. Targeting the BJP government, he said that exploitation and discrimination has increased in Odisha and Srikant Jena is fighting strongly against it.
ED, CBI and Income Tax were misused against anti-BJP leaders in Maharashtra
Regarding ED (Enforcement Directorate), Akhilesh Yadav said that this institution has now become just a political weapon. He said that Income Tax Department and other agencies already exist to investigate economic crimes, so there is no need for ED. He reminded that ED was established during the time of Congress and now the same Congress is facing its brunt. He alleged that ED, CBI and Income Tax have been misused against anti-BJP leaders in Maharashtra.
Corruption is at its peak in UP- Akhilesh Yadav
Referring to demonetisation, Akhilesh said that after that crores of rupees were recovered from many places in Uttar Pradesh. He said that corruption is at its peak in UP and commissions are being taken in investment schemes as well. He also alleged that a corrupt IAS officer is hiding with the Chief Minister.
