Prashant Kishor hopes for justice from SC
Regarding this, Jan Suraj Party founder Prashant Kishore said, "The Election Commission is not involving all the stakeholders and is not telling whose names are being removed. The process is not so transparent. We hope that we will get justice on this issue."
In fact, in the hearing held on Monday, the Supreme Court said that when we agree with the petitioners, the entire process will be cancelled. There is no need for any stay right now. Justice Suryakant said that Aadhaar and EPIC should be considered during SIR. If there is any doubt in any case, then necessary action can be taken on it. However, this cannot be called an order, it is just a suggestion.
Names of 65 lakh voters removed from voter list
Let us tell you that a situation of conflict has arisen between the Election Commission and the opposition regarding the ongoing SIR in Bihar. The matter is in the Supreme Court and the petitioners are hopeful of justice. At present, no ban has been imposed on it and the first phase of SIR has been completed in Bihar. According to which the names of 65 lakh voters have been removed from the voter list. These are those voters who have died. Or who are permanently residing in another state, or who have voter ID at two places.
According to the data released in the first phase, there are 22 lakh (2.83%) people declared dead under SIR. Apart from this, there are 36 lakh (4.59%) people who have been permanently transferred/not found and there are 7 lakh (0.89%) people registered at more than one place, whose names have been deleted. However, the opposition says that there is no transparency in this data. This is a data taken in a hurry, which is not correct.
