What is Chhattisgarh liquor scam?
The Chhattisgarh liquor scam reportedly started in February 2019. At this time, 200 trucks carrying 800 crates of liquor were dispatched from the distillery every month. It is said that initially, each crate was sold for Rs 2,840.
Later, as the operation expanded, the volume was doubled to 400 truckloads a month. The price of the box also increased to Rs 3,880.
The investigation revealed that in just three years, more than 60 lakh cases of liquor were allegedly sold illegally, generating illegal revenue of about Rs 2,174.60 crore.
