News Topical, Digital Desk : Renowned director SS Rajamouli is currently in the news for a statement he made. On November 15th, Rajamouli held a grand event to announce the title of his most anticipated film, Varanasi, but he said something that didn't sit well with the audience.

In fact, at the title launch event for "Varanasi ," Rajamouli stated that he doesn't believe in God. The movie's genre, Varanasi, is mythological. This angered Rajamouli. His statement led to severe social media trolling, with netizens questioning why he was making "Varanasi" if he didn't believe in God.

Ram Gopal Varma's reaction to Rajamouli's statement

Now, amid the controversy, director Ram Gopal Varma has come out in support of Rajamouli. He responded to the trolls with a post. On his handle, "X," Ram said, "Regarding the venom being spread by so-called believers against Rajamouli... they should know that being an atheist is not a crime in India. Article 25 of the Constitution protects the right not to believe. Therefore, he has every right to say he doesn't believe, just as much as those spreading venom have the right to say they do."

Ram's befitting reply to those trolling Rajamouli

Ram Gopal Varma further said in the post, “Now coming to the stupid thing that 'if he doesn't believe in God then why does he show God in his films?' By this logic, does a filmmaker have to become a gangster to make a gangster film, or a ghost to make a horror film?' And the shocking truth? Despite not believing in God, God has given Rajamouli 100 times more success, more money and more fans than most believers would see even in a hundred lifetimes.”

Ram Gopal Varma speaks on Rajamouli's success

In his lengthy post, Ram Gopal Varma further stated that God trusts atheists more than believers. He doesn't care, and perhaps isn't sitting around taking notes on who believes and who doesn't. He has no problem with them. So why are believers experiencing high blood pressure and ulcers? Ram Gopal Varma stated that being an atheist isn't the real problem, but rather their success without faith in God. This frightens those who believe in God rabidly and then fail.
