No one could have imagined that the joyous wedding rituals that had arrived on Tuesday from a village in the Ghunghater police station area in Banki town, part of the Nagar Kotwali area, would suddenly take a sad turn. After the overnight wedding rituals were completed, on Wednesday morning, as preparations for the wedding were underway, news suddenly arrived that the bride, Pallavi, was missing from home.
The wedding procession arrived in Banki on Tuesday. The bride's family welcomed the guests lavishly. Late that night, groom Sunil Kumar and bride Pallavi exchanged vows. All wedding rituals were completed, and the couple celebrated by dancing together on stage. But on Wednesday morning, as preparations for the wedding were underway, the family was shocked to discover the bride had disappeared. The family searched the neighborhood and among relatives, but found no sign of Pallavi.
Jewellery for the bride was made by mortgaging the land.
According to reports, the groom, Sunil, is an intermediate graduate and the eldest of two brothers. The bride, Pallavi, had studied up to grade eight. Sunil owned three bighas of land, which he mortgaged for ₹160,000 to fund the wedding. He used this money to purchase jewelry for the bride. Sunil rented 11 vehicles for the wedding procession, and approximately 90 guests attended.
The groom's happiness was snatched away in a moment.
Sunil, who had come here with the greatest joy of his life, had no idea that his world would be shattered before the wedding. When this news reached the wedding party, the groom, Sunil, and his family were devastated. There was chaos. Dial 112 was immediately alerted. Sunil explained that he was extremely excited about the wedding. He had even had the bride, Pallavi's name, inked in henna on his hands. But just before the farewell, all his joy was shattered in an instant when the bride suddenly disappeared.
Police registered a case and started investigation
The police arrived at the scene and searched, questioned, and investigated for several hours. However, by noon, the bride was still untraceable. Finally, the groom, Sunil, and his father filed a written complaint at the Banki police station, following which the police registered a case and began an investigation.
