News Topical, Digital Desk : The demand for independence of Pakistan's Balochistan province is increasing. A few days ago, the Baloch National Movement has announced the launch of 'Operation Bam (Morning)'. Under this operation, the fighters of the Baloch National Movement carried out about 17 attacks in many districts of Pakistan including Panjgur, Surb, Kech and Kharan.
Meanwhile, Baloch National Movement (BNM) Information Secretary Qazi Dad Mohammad Rehan on Sunday said that Balochistan "will never be a part of Pakistan." Rehan made this statement during an exclusive interview with news agency ANI. The Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) has described it as a strategic shift in its armed resistance, aimed at eliminating Pakistan's military presence in the region.
We are ready to oppose Pakistan: Rehan
"Operation Bam, which means 'dawn', marks a turning point in our struggle. It shows that the Baloch people are ready to take control of their destiny and resist Pakistani oppression through organised, effective action," Rehan was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
'Balochistan has the power to govern itself'
He said the campaign was important both in combat and politics and showed that the Baloch people were ready to rule themselves. Rehan also said, “This proves that Balochistan has the strength and unity to rule itself if it is given independence. This challenges the notion spread by Pakistan and its allies that anarchy will prevail if Balochistan becomes independent.”
Rehan further said that we are the first party to boycott the Pakistani Parliament. We have made it clear that we do not want to live under Pakistani rule. Our fight is for complete independence, not for limited autonomy or symbolic rights within Pakistan.
What did Qazi Dad Mohammad Rehan appeal to the world?
Rehan also criticised the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), saying that they exploit Baloch resources and give nothing in return. “Billions of dollars have been spent on our land, but the Baloch people are poor, oppressed and deprived of their resources,” he said. “Balochistan belongs to the Baloch, not Punjab or any other part of Pakistan,” he added.
Furthermore, Rehan appealed to the global community, "The world must understand that Balochistan's struggle is just and inevitable. Operation Bam is just the beginning of our new effort for freedom."
