Attempted firebomb attack

According to the US Justice Department, Neumayer had attempted to carry out a firebomb attack using Molotov cocktails and made violent threats online against Americans and US President Donald Trump.

The accused fled leaving the bag

Neumayer arrived in Israel last month and visited the US Embassy in Tel Aviv last week. According to Justice Department officials, he fought with a security guard outside the building and fled, dropping his bag when the guard tried to apprehend him.

The Justice Department said he posted on social media: "Join me in burning down the embassy in Tel Aviv. Death to America, death to Americans, and shame on the West." He also threatened to assassinate Donald Trump in a separate post. Neumayer has claimed on his social media that he is the founder and CEO of a company called Atlas Light Company, though it is unclear what the company does.

Israeli police arrested

A search of the bag turned up three improvised explosive devices, commonly known as Molotov cocktails, which ignite a fire when thrown. Neumayer was later tracked down to his hotel and arrested by Israeli police.
