News Topical, Digital Desk : Along with the Chaturthi that comes in Shuklapaksha and Krishnapaksha every month, Wednesday is also considered auspicious for the worship of Lord Ganesha. This time Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on Wednesday, due to which its importance increases even more. In such a situation, if you are also going to install Bappa in your house, then before that, definitely know some things, so that you can get the full benefit of worship.

How should the idol be - For Ganesha installation, one should always choose an idol made of clay, so that it does not pollute the water. Along with this, if you make a clay idol of Bappa yourself, then for this, the idol should be made by mixing pure black soil, yellow soil and straw from the river bank.

If you are installing Ganesh Ji in your home, then you should choose an idol with trunk on the right side. Whereas if you are installing Ganesh Ji in your workplace, then an idol with trunk on the left side is considered auspicious.

What should be the seat - Bappa's idol can be seated on a seat of any colour (Ganesh ji sthapana niyam). If the seat is yellow or green, it will be more auspicious. Just keep in mind that the colour of the seat should not be black.

Auspicious time for Ganesh installation - from 11:05 am to 1:39 pm

Offer these things in worship - During the worship of Ganesh Ji, offer him milk, curd, ghee, honey, sugar, sacred thread, turmeric, sandalwood, kumkum, rice grains, flowers, fruits, incense, lamps, clothes, durva, shami leaves etc. Offer modaks or laddus as prasad. Along with this, you can also recite Ganpati Atharvashirsha, Sankashtanashnam Ganesh Stotra and Shri Ganesh Chalisa in the worship.

Importance of offering Durva

Durva, also known as Doob,  is considered to have special importance in the worship of Lord Ganesha  . There is a mythological story behind offering Durva, which is full of medicinal properties, to Lord Ganesha. According to the story, when Lord Ganesha killed the demon Analasur and swallowed him, he started having a burning sensation in his stomach. At that time, he was made to consume Durva, which soothed the burning sensation. Hence, the tradition of offering Durva to Lord Ganesha has been going on.

keep these things in mind

It is best to wear yellow clothes while worshipping Lord Ganesha. Lord Ganesha should always be seen from the front, because poverty is believed to reside behind his back. Tulsi is also not offered to Lord Ganesha. If possible, do install a Kalash as well.
