News Topical, Digital Desk : Taking a big decision, the administration of US President Donald Trump has put a condition of depositing a security bond of up to 15 thousand dollars (about 12.5 lakh rupees) before granting visa for certain countries.

The rule applies to those applying for US tourism (B-2) or business (B-1) visas and whose countries are involved in visa overstay cases.

The rule will be implemented under the pilot program

The US State Department implemented this rule on Monday through a 'temporary final regulation'. This is a 12-month pilot program, during which its impact and results will be observed.

Who all will be affected?

The US said that this bond rule will apply to people from countries where the visa overstay rate is very high. Apart from this, citizens of countries whose document verification system is weak or which give citizenship without residence under the 'Citizenship by Investment' scheme may also have to face this rule.

How much fee will have to be paid?

The amount of the bond before granting the visa can range from 5 thousand to 15 thousand dollars. This amount will depend on the country of the applicant and the assessment of the visa officers.
