News Topical, Digital Desk : Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will launch the second phase of the Vibrant Villages Programme in Assam on Friday, marking a significant milestone in efforts to strengthen border villages and promote all-round development in border areas.
The Vibrant Village Programme-II is a central scheme with an outlay of ₹6,839 crore by the financial year 2028-29. The programme will be implemented in 15 states and two union territories. Amit Shah will launch the programme from Nathanpur in Assam's Cachar district.
"On Friday, the Vibrant Village Programme-II will be launched in Assam. This programme is the first in India to realise Modiji's vision for the development of villages," he said in a post on Twitter.
He said the Vibrant Villages program provided border villages with all the amenities available in other parts of the country. The Home Minister said it prevented migration from border villages, transformed them into prosperous residential centers, and strengthened border security manifold.
The Vibrant Villages Programme-II will further strengthen borders by extending these benefits to more villages. This promotes secure, strong, and prosperous border communities, in line with the vision of a developed India 2047.
