News Topical, Digital Desk : The Kanwas police station has achieved a major success as part of Operation Clean Sweep, a campaign against illegal smuggling in Kota Rural. During a blockade, police seized 49.43 kilograms of raw silver ingots.
According to reports, the silver bars are estimated to be worth approximately ₹14 million in the international market. The police have taken the matter seriously and have launched an investigation.
Campaign being run to prevent smuggling of metals
Kota Rural Superintendent of Police Sujit Shankar stated that a special campaign is underway to prevent the smuggling of illegal drugs, illicit liquor, and untaxed precious metals. Under the direction of Additional Superintendent of Police Ram Kalyan Meena, a special team led by Station Officer Anoop Singh stopped a Creta car during a blockade at Kanvas Tiraha, Morukala, on Tuesday, February 3rd.
Police took action and seized silver
According to reports, a large quantity of raw silver ingots were recovered from the vehicle during the search. Due to the lack of valid documents for the silver, and suspicion of theft or connection to another crime, the silver was seized under Section 106 of the Indian Civil Defense Code, 2023.
Income Tax and GST Department launched a campaign
In this case, silver was seized from Ashish, son of Prakashchand Jain, resident of Nileswari Colony, Garoth, and Pirulal, son of Motilal Mali, resident of Mali Mohalla, Garoth, both residents of Mandsaur district, Madhya Pradesh. According to reports, the Income Tax Department and the GST Department have been informed of the seizure. An investigation is underway into the purchase, sale, and transportation of such a large quantity of raw silver .
