News Topical, Digital Desk : US President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner and White House envoy Steve Wittcalf are planning to travel to Moscow to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Bloomberg News reported this, citing people familiar with the matter. The meeting could take place this month, although plans are not yet finalized and the timing could be delayed due to unrest in Iran. A White House official said no such meeting is currently scheduled.

What did the report say?

The report said US officials will present Putin and his team with the latest draft of peace proposals. The talks are expected to discuss security guarantees from the US and Europe and Ukraine's post-war reconstruction to sustain any agreement.

This comes after Trump's comments earlier this month in which he expressed frustration with Putin over the ongoing war in Ukraine and reiterated that he initially thought ending the conflict would be easy.
