News Topical, Digital Desk : All Indigo Airlines flights to Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Bangalore from Gorakhpur Airport were canceled on Friday, December 5th due to operational difficulties. For the convenience of passengers, Indigo Airlines notified all passengers in a timely manner through messages and calls beginning at 8:00 AM. Additional staff were deployed at various airport counters to assist passengers, and proper seating arrangements were also made outside the airport premises. Indigo Airlines provided snacks to waiting passengers.

Emphasis on passenger amenities

The Airports Authority of India paid special attention to passenger amenities. Flight information was updated in real time in the FIDS system. Extra attention was also paid to the cleanliness of restrooms and other areas. Through constant coordination with airlines, every possible facility was provided to passengers.

Hope to get relief soon

Airport Director Sanjay Kumar stated that IndiGo Airlines is sending timely information to all passengers. Adequate arrangements for seating, drinking water, and other essential amenities have been made at the airport. He expressed hope that passengers will receive relief soon.

Flights were cancelled due to this

It's worth noting that on December 5th, more than 500 IndiGo flights were cancelled. The primary reason for this was the DGCA's new operational guidelines, which resulted in insufficient flight staff being available. This move left millions of passengers stranded at airports across the country, leading to protests at several locations. Meanwhile, IndiGo has apologized and promised to return to normal within the next few days.

DGCA expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to the passengers and directed the airlines to refund the entire amount. Due to this sudden failure of the system, opposition parties have accused the Modi government of negligence.
