News Topical, Digital Desk : Akzo Nobel announced after the stock market closed on Thursday that it has been issued a show-cause notice of Rs 63 lakh by the West Bengal GST department. The company informed the exchange that the notice was issued on September 24, 2025, and was received by the company on October 23, 2025. The notice states that Input Tax Credit (ITC) for the period April 2021 to March 2022 has been disallowed.

The company stated that the total amount payable is ₹6,275,220, which includes tax of ₹3,653,855, interest of ₹2,255,980, and a penalty of ₹3,653,855. The company stated that this is merely a show-cause notice and that necessary submissions and responses can be submitted to the relevant authorities within the stipulated timeframe. The company stated that Akzo Nobel is making the necessary preparations to respond to this process. 

Share Performance: The company's shares closed at ₹3,334 on Thursday, down 1.09 percent. Over the past year, the company's shares have declined 9.52 percent.
