News Topical, Digital Desk : The AIMIM has released its first list of seven candidates for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections. This announcement was made on the instructions of AIMIM National President Barrister Asaduddin Owaisi. This list is considered politically significant in view of the upcoming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections in 2026. It clearly indicates that AIMIM has begun active and organized preparations for the Mumbai local body elections.

These are the names of 7 candidates

As part of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections, AIMIM has announced candidates for the wards falling under Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar Assembly Constituency 171. Mehjabeen Atiq Ahmed Khan has been fielded as a female candidate from Ward No. 134. Khan Irshad Aslam Ali from Ward No. 135, Mohammad Jamir Mohammad Murtuza Qureshi from Ward No. 136, Shamir Ramzan Patel from Ward No. 137, and Roshan Irfan Shaikh from Ward No. 138 are OBC candidates. Shabana Mohammad Atif Shaikh will be the female candidate from Ward No. 139, and Vijay Tatoba Ubale from Ward No. 140 has been nominated from the SC category. With these nominations, AIMIM has attempted to maintain social balance.

In addition to the BMC, AIMIM has announced the names of six candidates for the Maharashtra civic elections. Shahnaz Khalid Shaikh, Salma Jabir Shaikh, Shahbaz Ahmed Syed, and Samad Wahab Khan have been nominated for Ward 4 in Ahmednagar. Sumayya Mohammed Ali Shaikh has been fielded for Ward 4 in Latur. Alia Anjum Mohammed Gaus Jain has been declared the candidate for Parbhani. This list reflects the party's strategy to strengthen AIMIM's presence at the state level.

Voting on January 15, results on January 16

According to the Mumbai Municipal Corporation election schedule, the nomination process will run from December 23, 2025, to December 30, 2025. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be conducted on December 31, 2025. The last date for withdrawal of candidates is January 2, 2026. Election symbols will be allotted on January 3, 2026, and the final list of candidates will be released on the same day. Voting will be held on January 15, 2026, and counting will take place on January 16, 2026. With this schedule, the picture of the BMC elections is now completely clear.
