News Topical, Digital Desk : US President Donald Trump said on Friday that Chinese President Xi Jinping was "very happy" with the situation in the Strait of Hormuz and he was looking forward to their meeting in China.
‘’President Xi is very pleased that the Strait of Hormuz is open or rapidly opening, " Trump wrote on Truthout Social. He added, " Our meeting in China will be very special and possibly historic. I look forward to being with President Xi, and there will be much to accomplish! "
What did Trump indicate?
The statement comes at a time when global oil supplies have been disrupted by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, which began on February 28 when the US and Israel launched joint attacks on Iran.
Currently, a two-week ceasefire has been in effect between the US and Iran, yet movement through this route remains limited. This is not the first time the US President has indicated a positive response from China to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
"China is very happy that I am permanently opening the Strait of Hormuz. I am doing this for them and for the world. This situation will never arise again. They have agreed not to send weapons to Iran," Trump said in a post on Truth Social.

He also mentioned direct communication with Xi on the issue of arms supplies to Iran, saying the Chinese leader denied any such involvement. "I wrote him a letter urging him not to do it, and he wrote me a letter back basically saying he's not doing it," Trump told Fox News.
