News Topical, Digital Desk : After the partition in 1947, many film actors  left their ancestral homes in Pakistan  and became residents of India. The names of legends like Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor are included in this case. But now a big news is coming out about their heritage in the neighboring country, which is related to the matter of preserving their property. Let us know the matter in a little more detail.

Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor's legacy will be preserved

Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government on Wednesday approved Rs 3.38 crore for the restoration and preservation of historical buildings associated with Indian film legends Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor.

The allocation was approved in a meeting chaired by provincial Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Advisor on Tourism and Archaeology Zahid Khan Shinwari. The meeting also approved major projects for heritage conservation and tourism promotion in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province under the World Bank's KITE programme.

The historical buildings of Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar, which have already been declared national heritage by the Pakistan government, are in a dilapidated state. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Archaeology Department plans to convert both the buildings into museums dedicated to the life and career of the two actors.

Pakistani Prime Minister made a big announcement

The then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had declared these houses as national heritage sites on July 13, 2014. Director of Archaeology Department Dr. Abdus Samad said that the government wants to acquire this property and convert it into a museum which will showcase the journey of Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor from Peshawar to Mumbai, including a dedicated gallery.

It should be noted that not only Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor but there were many other film personalities like Manoj Kumar whose families had left their property in Pakistan after the partition.
