News Topical, Digital Desk : The deaths and serious illness of several people after drinking toxic water in Indore, a BJP-ruled state in Madhya Pradesh, has raised concerns among residents of major cities across the country, including Delhi. Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party has warned the people of Delhi to learn from the Indore incident and remain vigilant.
Anurag Dhanda, national media in-charge of the Aam Aadmi Party, said, "The Indore incident is a major warning of danger. In such a situation, the people of Delhi also need to be cautious about drinking water. BJP is in power in almost all the major states of the country, including Madhya Pradesh. The entire country has seen the negligence of the BJP government in Indore. Incidents like Indore are possible in other cities as well."
He further said, "The BJP's arrogance is clearly visible in how it treats the people who elected them. The public has elected the BJP in Madhya Pradesh. In Indore, Madhya Pradesh, the MP, MLA, and councilor belong to the BJP. The Municipal Corporation, the Commissioner, and the state government are also BJP's. Despite having so many powers, 14 people died due to drinking dirty water under the BJP government. Hundreds are still sick, and the number of sick people may increase further."
Anurag Dhanda said that when he questions the BJP government's failures in Madhya Pradesh, its ministers resort to abusive language. The minister's attitude suggests that the deaths of children due to drinking contaminated water are a non-issue for the BJP. For the BJP, human lives are of no value.
Anurag Dhanda said that now the BJP government has come to power in Delhi. BJP also holds power at the Centre and in the MCD. The people of Delhi also need to be very vigilant about the water supply to their homes. Because the problems faced by people in Indore due to government negligence could occur in any other city.
Anurag Dhanda also said, "Right now, wherever there are major cities, be it Mumbai or Delhi, there is a BJP government. Madhya Pradesh has already seen an example of the negligence these people show." He said that there should definitely be a central agency that can inspect the drinking water and sewage systems in all these places, so that similar tragedies or accidents do not occur in other cities.
In addition to Dhanda, Aam Aadmi Party's chief spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar also attacked the BJP on this issue. She said, "For almost two years, people in that ward have been complaining that the water is poisoned and that sewer water is mixed with the drinking water. People also said that the water contains acid. People filed written complaints stating that the water is poisoned, but no one woke up. Were those who died not Hindus? Have the cries of those Hindus not reached Prime Minister Modi yet, that no one has been held accountable. Who has resigned and who is accountable?"
He said, "On one hand, Prime Minister Modi claims to have a developed India, and on the other, people are dying from toxic water and toxic air. The BJP's focus is solely on horse-trading, vote-stealing, how to break and topple governments, and how to frame false cases against opposition leaders. However, the BJP has completely failed in governance."
