News Topical, Digital Desk : The Aam Aadmi Party has raised the issue of drug addiction and drug trafficking among youth in Delhi's Rajendra Nagar assembly constituency. Senior AAP leader Durgesh Pathak held a press conference on Sunday (September 21) and questioned the BJP government on the drug trade. The AAP leader alleged that drugs are being sold openly and that terror has spread. He also showed a video of drug injections being found in parks.

AAP leader Durgesh Pathak said at a press conference on Sunday, “Injections are being found in several parks in Narayan village, a part of the Rajendra Nagar assembly constituency. These injections are used for drug use. Narayan is a historic village. It's barely 7-8 kilometers from the Prime Minister's residence. It wouldn't be wrong to call it the heart of Delhi.”

Drugs are available openly – Durgesh Pathak

He continued, "All the parks around the Rajendra Nagar Assembly constituency in Narayana village are in a similar state. Used drug injections lie scattered everywhere, 200, 500, 700, or even 1,000. Drugs are openly available. Go to any shop; there's a code word or a valid identification. You ask for them and immediately receive a bottle and injection. You go to a nearby park, use them, and move on."

AAP leader surrounds BJP MLA

Referring to the drugs issue, the AAP leader said, "This kind of situation has been created in our assembly constituency. The most important thing is that the Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from Rajendra Nagar also lives in this ward. This place is hardly two or three hundred meters away from his house."

I raised the issue of drugs in the Assembly – Durgesh Pathak

He also stated that drug addiction is becoming a growing problem within the entire Assembly. Durgesh Pathak added, "A year or a year and a quarter ago, I raised this issue in the Assembly. I met with all the senior officers, but no action was taken. There's nothing wrong with saying that the situation has worsened since then."
