The young woman, a resident of the Nandganj police station area of Ghazipur, climbed a telephone tower between 3 and 4 a.m. and began creating a ruckus, demanding marriage. Around 4 a.m., a police officer on duty noticed her, and police officers were alerted, who arrived at the scene.

The woman alleges that a traffic police inspector posted in Gorakhpur lured her into marriage, but later reneged. On May 21, 2025, she filed a complaint at the Nandganj police station in Ghazipur. She also filed a complaint of threats. Upon receiving information about the incident, the inspector was called to the scene.

He flatly refused to marry her, stating that he had received a stay from the High Court in the case filed against him and that the woman was trying to pressure him.
