News Topical, Digital Desk : A young man who had come to eat at a dhaba was shot dead by criminals late Sunday night. Chaos ensued at the scene.

The incident occurred at a restaurant in Baitalpur, within the Gauri Bazaar police station area. Upon receiving information about the incident, the Superintendent of Police and other officials visited the scene overnight to gather information. The incident is believed to be due to an old rivalry.

On Sunday night at around 11 o'clock, Pappu Yadav, 38, son of Dhari Yadav, a resident of Sopri village, was shot by miscreants while he was eating at a dhaba located at Baitalpur on Gorakhpur-Deoria road.

The altercation started due to an old rivalry

Pappu Yadav had returned home two days earlier after nearly six months of working abroad. On Sunday night, he set out for a trip and stopped for dinner at Ram Avatar Dhaba in Baitalpur. Three young men from his village arrived and an argument broke out over an old rivalry.

According to eyewitnesses, as the dispute escalated, a young man opened fire with a weapon. It is reported that three rounds were fired, one of which struck Pappu Yadav. He collapsed and died on the spot. The attackers fled on a motorcycle after the incident.

Upon receiving the information, police arrived at the scene and the injured was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Considering the seriousness of the incident, Superintendent of Police Abhijit R. Shankar, Circle Officer Rudrapur, and other police forces arrived at the scene.

The forensic team and dog squad also collected evidence from the scene. The deceased's father, Dhari Yadav, has accused young men from the same village of murder. Based on the complaint, the police have registered a murder case against six named individuals and have begun searching for the accused.

Police are examining footage from nearby CCTV cameras and raiding possible hideouts. Rudrapur CO Hariram Yadav said that prima facie the case appears to be linked to an old rivalry.

Based on the complaint filed by the deceased's father, Dhari Yadav, a murder case has been registered against six accused. Five teams have been deployed to arrest the accused. Forensic and dog squad teams have also been deployed to investigate the incident. The accused are being searched for.
