
News Topical, Digital Desk : A young man who was injured after being hit by a police officer's vehicle in Rajasthan's Churu district died on Thursday (October 2). Family members and villagers protested the incident on Friday (October 3).
Seventeen hours after a 25-year-old man died after being hit by a police officer's car, the deadlock was broken and the family agreed to take the body after a post-mortem. Earlier, BJP MLA Harlal Saharan also joined the protest that had been going on in front of the district hospital mortuary since 10 a.m. Those present at the protest also raised slogans against the police administration.
Young man injured in accident dies
ASP Lokendra Dadarwal said that while returning from official work, Kalika Unit team in-charge ASP Arvind, a bike rider, was injured after being hit by the ASP's car near Balrasar Athuna on Churu, Sardarshahar Road at around 9 pm on Thursday night. On being brought to the district hospital, doctors declared him dead.
Villagers erupted in anger over the accident
After the accident, the angry villagers first blocked the road and then on Friday (October 3) at 10 am, they protested in front of the mortuary demanding registration of FIR against the guilty policemen and providing contract jobs and financial assistance to the family.
After a four-hour protest, ASP Lokendra Dadarwal led a successful one-hour negotiation with the protesters, resulting in the family agreeing to accept the body after a post-mortem. ASP Lokendra Dadarwal, MLA Harlal Saharan, DSP Sunil Jhajharia, and SDM were present at the talks.
