The storm blew off the roofs of buildings

According to the National Weather Service, a tornado struck Clayton, Missouri, between 2:30 and 2:50 p.m. in St. Louis. It ripped off roofs from buildings and damaged trees and power lines.

 

St. Louis Mayor Cara Spencer said more than 5,000 homes were affected. About 100,000 people were left without power due to power outages during the storm. It's really devastating.

 

Many people are hospitalized in critical condition

He said a curfew was imposed overnight Friday in the worst-hit areas. The number of injured was not immediately known.

 

According to a hospital spokeswoman, 20 to 30 patients affected by the storm have been admitted. Some of them are in critical condition. However, most will be discharged soon. 15 patients have been admitted to Children's Hospital in St. Louis.
