
News Topical, Digital Desk : Cyber Crime in Delhi: Delhi Police's cyber crime team has exposed a big fraud network in the capital Delhi. Delhi Police has arrested a fraudster named Bhupendra Guru. According to Delhi Police, the accused cheated a woman of about Rs 13.21 lakh by promising her a job in Delhi Metro and used a fake email in the name of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation to send a fake appointment letter to the woman.
How was the matter revealed?
According to Delhi Police, the case was revealed when Manjesh Bijarnia, a resident of Model Town, Delhi, lodged an FIR with the Cyber Cell of Delhi Police. In the complaint lodged with the Cyber Cell of Delhi Police, it was said that a person named Bhupendra Guru had promised to get him a job in Delhi Metro. The complainant said that the accused not only cheated him of Rs 13.21 lakh, but also kept his original educational certificates with himself.
Apart from this, the accused also sent a fake appointment letter through a fake email in the name of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. Delhi Police registered a case under sections 318(4), 319(2) and 340 of the Indian Penal Code.
Police arrested the accused
Delhi Police has started serious investigation to catch the gang that duped people of money in the name of getting them jobs in Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. Police formed a special team in this case and started investigating the matter. During the investigation of Delhi Police, it was found that the accused Bhupendra had contacted the complainant only through WhatsApp and he did not live at the address mentioned in his documents.
Delhi Police said that there was no concrete evidence like his current address, mobile number. Despite this, Delhi Police took the help of digital surveillance and open source intelligence. Through electronic surveillance and manual efforts, Delhi Police identified the accused and also found out his address which was in Sultanpuri area of Delhi. After this, Delhi Police finally arrested the accused.
During interrogation, the accused confessed his crime
During interrogation by Delhi Police, accused Bhupendra confessed his crime. During interrogation by Delhi Police, he told that he chose this way of cheating to earn easy money. The accused prepared a fake appointment letter through a fake DMRC email and sent it to the complainant. Delhi Police has currently recovered the original certificate of the complainant from the possession of the accused.
Delhi Police is investigating this case further. However, the cyber team of Delhi Police is trying to find out if Bhupendra is involved in any other crime of this type. Delhi Police has intensified the investigation to find more victims on his trail.
