According to reports, Sonia, a resident of Dabthua village in the Sardhana police station area, is divorced from her husband. She was currently living at her parents' home. Meanwhile, she fell in love with a young man named Mohit from her village. Sonia expressed her desire to marry him, but Mohit refused, prompting Sonia to file a lawsuit against him and demand one lakh rupees as a settlement. Mohit's family paid some money to secure his bail, but when they couldn't find the remaining money, Sonia resorted to a new tactic.

Police investigations revealed that the woman, with the help of her partner, Sanjay, a Noida resident, had plotted to have her ten-year-old son disappear. She turned off the CCTV cameras in the house and sent the child to Noida with Sanjay. Sonia then filed a false child kidnapping case against her boyfriend, Mohit, and three of his relatives.

SP Rural stated that a continued investigation revealed that the cameras in Sonia's home were off during the kidnapping, leading police to suspect her. During interrogation, Sonia finally confessed. Police have arrested the woman and her accomplice, Sanjay, and the child has been safely returned to his family. Based on the case filed by Mohit's mother, Indresh, both accused are being sent to jail.
