According to sources obtained by no changes will be made to weekly options expiry unless data shows increased and unusual trading activity. Sources say that unless unusual and increased trading activity from retail investors is clearly visible, no changes will be made to weekly expiry.
SEBI to review derivatives data
Sources said that market regulator SEBI will review derivatives data for July-September 2025. SEBI may consider several measures to regulate retail investor participation in the futures and options (F&O) sector, but data scrutiny is necessary first. Sources also stated that SEBI may consider steps such as removing disincentives related to long-term derivatives.
BSE Ltd shares surged following this update, trading at ₹2,495.90, up 4.65 percent. Over the past year, the stock has gained 55.94 percent.
