Here too, people have seen cyber criminals committing fraud on laptops and mobile phones in fields, gardens, water tanks, but till now no major action has been taken in the villages of this area like Reuna. Although the police have arrested more than a dozen cyber fraudsters from here on many occasions, but more new fraudsters are being prepared than the number of those arrested.

Teaching fraudulent methods to those who are unemployed and earn money from home

According to a person from Kandha village of Sachendi, a big gang of cyber fraudsters is operating in the village. The entire village knows about it but no one protests. If anyone protests, the entire gang and their family members overpower the protesters. This gang recruits those people who want to live a luxurious life or spend money on earning money from home or those who do not get a job and then lends them money to fulfill their needs and then asks for it back. After this, they include them in the gang and teach them the methods of fraud.

Data collection from e-commerce companies and public convenience centers

Cybercriminals collect data from public convenience centers, e-commerce companies, and the dark web to commit fraud. They then categorize this data and call individuals to defraud them. For example, they use data from public convenience centers to offer benefits of government schemes, cancel orders on e-commerce sites, and use data from the dark web to deceive people by threatening them with police threats.

How to avoid fraudsters

• Do not click on unknown links.
• Do not install unknown apps.
• Do not bet on gaming apps.
• Always keep PIN and biometrics separate from the device in banking and UPI apps.
• Be sure to verify the video or photo to make sure it's not a deepfake.
• If you get cheated, immediately call 1930 and inform the cyber cell about the incident.
