News Topical, Digital Desk : US President Donald Trump's envoy, Steve Wittkoff, and several senior officials will visit Moscow next week as part of efforts to end the war in Ukraine. They will hold talks with Russian officials and also meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, a possible preliminary agreement to end the war. This information was given by US President Trump and the Kremlin, the office of the Russian President, in separate statements.

Trump has been making continuous efforts to end the Ukraine conflict that has been going on for nearly four years. As part of this, he and his officials are holding talks with leaders around the world and trying to resolve the deadlock. Trump has given Ukraine a 28-point peace plan. This includes conditions like Ukraine giving up its claim on the land occupied by Russia and reducing the size of its army. Trump has given Ukraine until September 27 to accept this peace plan presented last week.

There will be detailed discussion in Russia

After Ukraine and its allies expressed disagreement over the peace plan, a crucial meeting between US and Ukrainian officials took place in Geneva, Switzerland, on Sunday. At this meeting, both sides decided to move forward on the peace plan. It is understood that Ukraine has reservations on some points. All points of the agreement will now be discussed by Russian and US officials in Moscow.

What did Trump say?

Speaking to the media during the flight, Trump said, "Witcalf will travel to Moscow to reach a preliminary agreement, accompanied by Jared Kushner. Kushner will assist in the negotiations and negotiations. This will be the first step toward implementing a very difficult ceasefire. It will be similar to what happened in Gaza. There, the agreement was reached by persuading Israel and pressuring Hamas."

Trump said last week Ukrainian President Zelensky was told clearly: "I agree to a peace plan or continue fighting." Yuri Ushakov, the Russian president's foreign affairs adviser, said a preliminary agreement to stop the Ukrainian war could be reached when Vitkauf arrives in Moscow next week.

Recording of Vitkaf-Ushakov talks made public

Bloomberg News has released a recording of a telephone conversation between Vitcalf and Ushakov on October 14th. In the conversation, Vitcalf says that a proposal to prevent war is being developed in the manner that Russian President Putin had expected from President Trump. Putin had expressed this expectation in his talks with Trump. The Kremlin has expressed displeasure over the leak of the recording.
