This is how Parveen Babi entered films

Parveen Babi, who belonged to a family of Nawabs in Junagadh, Gujarat, was born on April 4, 1954. Parveen was pampered from childhood. Her father died when she was young, and after his death, Parveen pursued her further education. Educated at a well-regarded school, Parveen was extremely bold and glamorous.

Along with her bold clothing, Parveen also smoked cigarettes openly. At the age of 18, Parveen began receiving modeling projects. One day, while attending a filming session in Ahmedabad, she began smoking during a break. It was there that filmmaker B.R. Ishara spotted her, who immediately offered her a role in his film.

Parveen made her film debut with the film "Charitra" in 1973. Unfortunately, the film flopped, but Parveen's bold image was etched in cinema.

Hit pairing with Amitabh

In 1974, Parveen Babi appeared opposite Amitabh Bachchan in the film Majboor. The film was a box office hit and launched Parveen's career. Parveen's pairing with Amitabh Bachchan was so successful that she received offers for major films, and she worked with him in several films back to back. Amitabh and Parveen's pairing was seen in cult classics like "Deewar," "Amar Akbar Anthony," and "Namak Halal."

First actress to appear on Time magazine

While Parveen's career was flourishing in Bollywood, Zeenat Aman was considered her rival. It's said that a cold war was going on between the two actresses. At the time, Zeenat Aman was the only actress known for her Western look, but with Parveen's arrival, a battle of glamour began between the two beauties in Bollywood.

This landed Parveen on the cover of Time magazine in 1976. At the time, she had become one of Bollywood's most expensive and sought-after actresses. Her hairstyle and dressing sense captivated everyone. This was after Parveen had only been in Hindi cinema for three years.

Name associated with Kabir Bedi, Danny and Mahesh Bhatt

Many men entered Parveen Babi's life, and Danny Denzongpa was the first. It's said that their relationship was quite bold at the time. They lived in a live-in relationship. However, their relationship only lasted for about four years before they broke up.

However, their friendship remained intact after the breakup. Parveen was then linked with Kabir Bedi. However, this relationship with Kabir Bedi also didn't last long, and they broke up. Finally, in 1977, Mahesh Bhatt entered Parveen's life. Parveen's relationship with the married Mahesh Bhatt was widely discussed. He even left his home for Parveen's love.

In fact, when Mahesh Bhatt entered Parveen's life, many controversies arose, but he became a true support for Parveen. He was the first person to learn about Parveen's illness. Parveen was suffering from an incurable condition called paranoid schizophrenia.

Although Parveen never admitted to having the condition at the time, her actions suggested otherwise. It is said that one day, Mahesh returned home to find Parveen sitting in a corner, trembling, holding a knife. She told Mahesh, “Mahesh, close the door. They'll kill us.

It is also said that when Mahesh Bhatt was leaving Parveen, she ran naked after him on the street. Ultimately, Parveen and Mahesh's relationship ended. Parveen's mental illness was so severe that she was constantly delusional, saying that someone would kill her, and her strange behavior would sometimes shock people.

Parveen suffered from a mental illness that made her believe those around her would harm her. It is said that in 1984, Parveen was even sent to a mental institution in New York.

Parveen's end was painful

Due to her illness, Parveen gradually disappeared from the industry. People stopped giving her work. Parveen accused Amitabh Bachchan of being a gangster and wanting to kill her. She even leveled several allegations against Sanjay Dutt.

January 22, 2005, was the date when news of Parveen's death broke. Parveen lived alone in her Juhu flat in Mumbai. She usually picked up newspapers and milk packets from outside her apartment, but for two days, the newspapers and other items had been lying unattended. Neighbors became suspicious and informed the police.

When the police broke down the door of Parveen's apartment, the scene was horrifying. Parveen's body lay on the bed, and the entire house was in disarray. Parveen had died approximately 72 hours earlier. This meant that her body had been rotting in the same room for approximately three days. It is said that Parveen's postmortem report revealed that she died of multiple organ failure, and there was not a single morsel of food in her stomach This meant she continued to suffer from hunger. However, traces of alcohol were found in her stomach. No one was able to identify Parveen's dead body. Eventually, some of her relatives arrived, and her funeral was conducted according to Muslim customs.
