On June 15, she spoke on the phone with Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen in an attempt to defuse tensions. The call was leaked and sparked protests across the country. On the court's decision, Shinawatra said she would accept the legal process and do her best to defend herself, as she had no intention other than protecting the country and maintaining peace.

He said, "I only thought about how to avoid problems. How to avoid armed conflict so that the soldiers do not suffer any harm." Shinawatra thanked his supporters and also apologized to the people for the trouble caused by the phone call leak.
