Delhi Election 2025: Now less than a week is left for voting in the assembly elections in the capital Delhi. In such a situation, all the political parties are busy campaigning vigorously in all the 70 assembly constituencies of Delhi. In the 2020 elections, Congress managed to get only 1.59 percent votes in Delhi's Rithala assembly seat.
In the first election held in 2008, Bharatiya Janata Party had won the Rithala assembly seat which comes under the North-West Lok Sabha constituency that came into existence after delimitation and Kulwant Rana defeated Shambhu Dayal Sharma of Congress by 26346 votes. Kulwant Rana continued his and his party's winning streak in 2013 as well and in that election he defeated Aam Aadmi Party candidate Harish Awasthi by more than 25 thousand votes. While Congress remained at third place.
In 2015, BJP lagged behind, AAP won twice back to back
But after that, in the 2015 elections, BJP lost here and AAP's Mohinder Goyal (93470) defeated BJP's Rana (64219) by registering a spectacular victory with a huge margin of more than 29 thousand votes. In the next election i.e. 2020, BJP bet on Manish Chaudhary (74067), but could not succeed in making a comeback here. AAP's Mohinder Goyal (87940) continuously maintained the magic of the broom here. However, this time the margin of victory was less than half as compared to the votes of the 2015 elections.
You are preparing for a hattrick
In this election too, Aam Aadmi Party has kept faith in Mohinder Goyal and has entrusted him with the responsibility of scoring a hat-trick of victories. BJP has again given a chance to its former MLA Kulwant Rana, while Congress has placed its bet on Sushant Mishra. Out of the four elections held since 2008, BJP and AAP have won two elections each, while in the last two elections there has been a direct contest between these two.
Your path to victory will not be easy
This time too the situation is going to be more or less the same, but this time BJP can give a tough fight to AAP, whereas Congress can be seen trying to improve its worst performance here till date. Because in the elections held since 1977 till now, Congress has managed to win only once in the year 1983. After that, election after election, the performance of Congress kept declining here which shows that the support base of Congress party has completely ended here.
