Heavy rain and snow alert
The Meteorological Department has predicted that heavy to very heavy rain and snowfall may occur in Mandi, Kangra, Kullu and Chamba districts on Thursday and Friday. In view of this, the department has issued an 'orange' alert for these districts. Meanwhile, a 'yellow alert' has been issued predicting heavy snowfall in Lahaul-Spiti and heavy rain and snowfall in Shimla district.
Apart from this, heavy rains are also expected in Una and Hamirpur districts. At the same time, the lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Tabo of Lahaul-Spiti district on the night of February 26, which was 4.5 degrees Celsius below zero. The Meteorological Department also said that a total of 70.4 mm of rain has been recorded in Himachal Pradesh during the winter season from January 1 to February 27.
Rain alert for 15 states
Let us tell you that the Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert in 15 states of the country on Thursday, which include Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Meghalaya and Assam. At the same time, there is an alert about snowfall along with rain in Himachal, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
