Oyo hotel owner: We have suffered huge losses

What is OYO's new rule?

  • If you want to book an Oyo hotel room, first you have to provide proof of your marriage or proof of relationship.
  • It has just been started from Meerut and then it will be implemented in the entire country.
  • According to OYO, the decision to expand the guidelines to other locations will depend on the initial response.
  • This rule applies to both online and offline bookings.
  • Oyo allows its partner hotels to accept or decline bookings based on their own discretion in line with local social norms.

Why did Oyo take such a step?

The question arises why did Oyo take this step? Is Oyo trying to change its image? Oyo has already received feedback from civil society groups in Meerut, urging them to take action against unmarried couples checking in. Apart from this, people from some other cities have also filed a petition to not allow unmarried couples to check in at Oyo hotels.
