Now in an interview, he shared an anecdote related to former West Indies cricketer Vivian Richards. 'The Family Man' actor Manoj Bajpayee recalled his meeting with him and told how his advice changed his outlook towards life.

In an interview with Ranveer Allahabadia, the 'Bhaiya Ji' actor explained how only a legend can appreciate another legend and acknowledge his achievements. During this, he told when he first met Vivian Richards and how Richards politely refused to accept that he is the best cricketer in the world. The actor said that

I met Richards at Mahesh Bhatt's house. I took his autograph. At that time I was looking for work in the film industry. Bhatt sahab loved me a lot, so I used to go to his house many times. There I told Vivian that I think you are the best player in the world, but he said no, Sunil Gavaskar is the best player in the world. I told him how can you say this, he is the second best.

He said that even though he was a part of the best team in the world, Sunil Gavaskar played against all the best bowlers, scored so many centuries and had such a long career.
