Angry at the continuing anti-Hindu violence in Bangladesh, Hindu Americans have launched a massive awareness campaign in Silicon Valley, "Ask Yunus Why". As part of the campaign, huge hoardings and billboards have been put up in this part of California.
Digital hoardings installed
The United Hindu Council installed the first billboard in a prominent location at 880-N and Market Street in Oakland before Christmas. Over the next three months, the digital billboards will display messages in six key locations, including high-traffic areas and major bridges, to raise awareness and promote conversation about this important issue, a statement said.
According to the statement, the violence against Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh under the rule of Mohammad Yunus is extremely regrettable. The council said that Yunus should include all Bangladeshis in his government and stop persecuting minorities on the basis of their religion.
Urged to protect human rights in Bangladesh
The Council also called on local, state and national leadership in the US to urge the ruling government in Bangladesh to protect human rights.
