New Delhi: Economist and chairman of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Economic Advisory Council Bibek Debroy has passed away at the age of 69. Bibek Debroy has also been the Vice Chancellor of Pune's Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics. Delhi AIIMS said that Bibek Debroy died due to intestinal problems.
The Government of India has also honored eminent economist Bibek Debroy with Padma Shri. He loved working on ancient texts. Bibek Debroy is also credited with translating ancient Indian texts into English and making them accessible to the youth. He was also a member of the NITI Aayog till June 5, 2019.

He said that Dr Bibek Debroy was a brilliant scholar who was well versed in economics, history, culture, politics, spirituality and other diverse fields.
