Uttarakhand Road Accident: A tragic bus accident took place on Saturday on the route from Pauri to Central School, in which so far 5 people have been confirmed dead and more than 15 injured. The accident is of bus number UK12PB0177, which went out of control and fell into a ditch about 100 meters deep. Relief and rescue work is going on rapidly after the incident. CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed deep condolences over the accident and assured all possible help to the families of the deceased.

This bus was going from Pauri city to Dehalchori. Near Satyakhal, the bus suddenly went out of control and slipped from the road and fell into the ditch. While falling, the bus hit a tree, which stopped it from going further down. However, the bus was shattered due to the accident. Local people and eyewitnesses said that after hearing the cries of the passengers in the bus, rescue work was started immediately.

Seriously injured were referred
As soon as the information of the accident was received, teams of SDRF, police and administration reached the spot. Local villagers also helped in the rescue operation. Ropes and other equipment were used to take the injured out of the ditch. All the injured have been admitted to the District Hospital Pauri after first aid. Some seriously injured people have been referred to other hospitals for better treatment.

According to the information received so far, 5 people have died in the accident. The deceased are being identified. At the same time, the condition of many of the injured is said to be critical. Doctors have expressed apprehension that the death toll may increase. 

CM expressed grief
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed deep condolences on this accident. He tweeted, "Received very sad news of the death of four passengers due to the bus accident on the way to Kendriya Vidyalaya in Pauri. I pray to God to give peace to the souls of the deceased and strength to the family to bear this pain." The Chief Minister has directed the administration to make arrangements for better treatment of the injured and investigate the accident.

After the accident, there was chaos at the spot. Local people and the administration are working together to take the injured out of the ditch. The bus had stopped in the middle of the ditch due to hitting the tree, due to which a lot of effort had to be made in the rescue work. The relatives of the injured have also reached the spot, who are in a bad condition due to crying.

Initial investigation has revealed that the accident occurred due to failure of the bus brakes. However, it has not been officially confirmed yet. The police have registered a case against the bus driver and the bus owner and started investigation. The transport department is checking the fitness certificate and other documents of the bus.

Three other road accidents also occurred
Haldwani-Nainital route: A car fell into a ditch late night near Baldiyakhan. One tourist died in the accident, while three were seriously injured Tehri-Gular: A Baleno car crashed near Gular, in which three people were injured. All are being treated in the hospital. Pauri bus accident: 5 people lost their lives in this accident and more than 15 were injured.

After the incident, local residents have raised questions on the poor condition of the road and administrative negligence. They say that many accidents have happened on Satyakhal Road before, but the government did not pay any attention to it. The problem of barricades and potholes on the roadside has been there for a long time.

This accident is another example of the increasing incidents of road accidents in Uttarakhand. The administration and transport department need to focus on road safety measures so that such incidents can be prevented.
