Uttarakhand News Today: Keeping in mind the possible increase in the number of tourists in the state on the occasion of New Year, the Uttarakhand government has made special preparations to maintain smooth traffic and security arrangements. In a high-level meeting held at his official residence, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the officials to take concrete steps to ensure that tourists do not face any kind of inconvenience.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami told the officials to improve the traffic system at the busy tourist places and routes of the state, and if needed, the number of police and traffic personnel should be increased in these areas. He asked to ensure that tourists do not face jams or other traffic related problems. He also directed to increase monitoring of vehicles entering the state and take strict action against those violating traffic rules.
Instructions for hospitals to remain alert
In the meeting, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami told the officials that hospitals should be kept on alert mode in case of any untoward incident. Emergency services should be active in all major medical centers and all possible medical assistance should be provided to the tourists. He also said that coordination should be ensured between the Disaster Management Department and the Police Department so that quick response can be given in any situation.
There is a possibility of a huge crowd of tourists at major tourist places like Mussoorie, Nainital, Rishikesh, Haridwar, Auli in the state. Police and security forces have been instructed to keep special vigil at these places. It was also decided in the meeting that the number of CCTV cameras will be increased in sensitive areas and surveillance will be done through drones.
Help centers will be set up for tourists, where they will get guidance and assistance. Signboards, guide signs and contact numbers of emergency services will be provided to maintain better traffic conditions on national highways and major routes.
CM Dhami's appeal to tourists
The government has advised tourists to follow traffic rules, celebrate peacefully and follow the instructions of the local administration. The Chief Minister appealed to the public and tourists to respect the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the state and maintain the positive image of Uttarakhand through their behavior.
The Chief Minister also made it clear that strict action will be taken against those driving under the influence of alcohol, violating traffic rules and creating ruckus in public places. He said that it is everyone's responsibility to maintain decency and discipline during the New Year celebrations.
Emergency helpline numbers have been
issued for tourists and local residents. In case of any problem, people will be able to get help immediately. The aim of these preparations of the Uttarakhand government is to provide a safe and pleasant experience to the tourists coming to the state for New Year celebrations. The government has instructed the local administration, police, and other related departments to work together and take special care of the facilities of the tourists.
