
A tragic road accident took place on Tuesday evening on Mori-Netwad road. A utility vehicle full of passengers went out of control and collided with the railing of the bridge, due to which the people riding in it fell on the road and drain. In this accident, one person died on the spot, while his five-year-old son died during treatment in the hospital. A total of 20 people were injured in the accident, out of which 15 have been referred to Dehradun and five to Purola Hospital.
According to the information received, the utility vehicle was going from Mori to Pujeli-Khansyadi. The brakes of the vehicle failed near Natwar, due to which the driver lost control. Due to the sloping road, the vehicle collided with the railing of the bridge at a high speed. The collision was so severe that the passengers sitting on the roof of the vehicle fell down on the drain and the road, while the passengers sitting on the front seats broke the glass and fell out.
As soon as the incident was reported, the local people reached the spot and pulled the injured out of the ditch. With the help of private vehicles, all the injured were taken to Mori Hospital for treatment. According to the hospital administration, 15 seriously injured passengers were referred to Higher Center Dehradun, while five other injured were sent to Purola Hospital.
